Palestinian President and French President have a phone conversation to discuss the situation between Palestine and Israel

On February 16th, Palestinian President Abbas had a phone call with French President Macron to discuss the latest developments in the Israeli Palestinian situation. During the call, Abbas emphasized his firm opposition to any attempt or plan aimed at expelling the Palestinian people from their homeland, whether in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, or East Jerusalem, which violates international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. He reiterated that the Palestinian National Authority should take responsibility in the Gaza Strip, must allow the Palestinian people to rebuild on their own land, and move towards the implementation of the two-state solution. He also emphasized that Israel’s plans to build Jewish settlements and annex parts of the West Bank must be stopped, as these actions will hinder the implementation of the “two-state solution” and undermine opportunities for peace and stability in the region. In addition, Abbas also informed Macron about the preparations for the upcoming emergency Arab summit in Cairo, Egypt.
