On February 17th, Lebanese Hezbollah leader Naeem Kassem gave a televised speech on the latest situation in the region. He stated that US President Trump’s position on the Palestinian issue is very dangerous, with the aim of eliminating Palestine and its people. Kassem strongly condemns any attempt to forcibly expel Palestinians from their homes and firmly opposes the relocation of Palestinians to Jordan, Egypt, or Saudi Arabia. Regarding internal issues in Lebanon, Kassem expressed satisfaction with the formation of the Lebanese government. Regarding the deadline for Israel’s withdrawal on February 18th, Kassem stated that Israel has no reason to continue occupying any territory in Lebanon. He called on the Lebanese government to take a firm and resolute stance, rejecting any potential compromise. Regarding the Lebanese government’s decision to prevent Iranian planes from landing at Beirut International Airport, Kassem called on the Lebanese government to reconsider this decision and take a stronger stance on sovereignty. Kassem also reiterated that Hezbollah firmly opposes any attack against the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Lebanon), emphasizing the importance of maintaining the security and peacekeeping mission of the Force.
