The White House indefinitely prohibits Associated Press journalists from entering the Oval Office and Air Force One

On February 15th, the White House announced on February 14th that it will indefinitely prohibit Associated Press journalists from entering the Oval Office and the Air Force One presidential plane. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budovic posted on social media platforms on the same day, stating that the Associated Press continues to ignore the “legal” geographic name change of “American Bay,” a decision that is not only “divisive,” but also exposes the AP’s commitment to false information. Budovic stated that while the right of the Associated Press to “irresponsible and dishonest reporting” is protected by the First Amendment, it does not guarantee unrestricted access to spaces such as the Oval Office and Air Force One.
