On February 11th, after the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced the postponement of the release of Israeli detainees, the Israeli Defense Forces issued a statement on the evening of February 10th local time, stating that the Israeli military had raised its alert level and readiness level, and canceled the vacation of the Southern Military Region Command troops. The statement stated that combat soldiers and other necessary troops will continue to be deployed in the Southern Military Region. The statement also stated that the Israeli military has decided to “significantly” dispatch reinforcements to the region to carry out defense tasks along the Gaza border.
