New Zealand lowers the threshold for ‘golden visas’ to attract affluent immigrants

On February 10th, New Zealand will simplify its so-called “golden visa” program, including eliminating English language requirements to attract affluent immigrants and help promote economic recovery. Immigration Minister Erica Stanford stated on Sunday in Auckland that from April 1st, the “Active Investor+” visa will be narrowed down to only two categories, and the acceptable investment scope will be expanded. She said that in addition to canceling language tests, other potential investment barriers, such as the amount of time investors must stay in the country, will also be adjusted.
