On February 8th, California Governor Newson signed a bill allocating $50 million to protect California policies and immigration. The report mentioned that the bill, previously known as the “Trump Defense” bill, was proposed by Newson to the Democratic Party for passage after Trump won the election at the end of 2024. The plan was passed by the state Senate and House of Representatives, allocating $25 million to the California Department of Justice to support legal battles against Trump’s federal policies, including environmental regulations and illegal immigration. Another $25 million will be used to support legal aid groups to assist illegal immigrants who may face deportation.
