Guatemala and the United States coordinate immigration repatriation efforts, receiving 18 flights per week

On January 25th, local time, the Office of the President of Guatemala confirmed that the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in continuous communication with the White House and is ready to receive about 18 flights per week carrying Guatemalan citizens repatriated from the United States. Guatemalan officials have stated that the United States has deported 264 Guatemalan citizens back to the country via military flights. Individuals returning to Guatemala have been treated with dignity through the “Homecoming” government aid program initiated by President Arevalo.
