On January 26th, the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government issued implementation opinions on comprehensively promoting the construction of a beautiful Guangdong. By 2027, the green, low-carbon, and circular economy system will be basically completed, the ecological environment will be cleaner and more beautiful, the diversity, stability, and sustainability of the ecosystem will steadily improve, the urban and rural living environment will be significantly improved, environmental health and safety will be effectively guaranteed, and the efficiency of ecological environment governance will continue to improve. A number of landmark and innovative achievements will be formed in the fields of beautiful cities, beautiful villages, beautiful rivers and lakes, beautiful bays, “waste free cities” construction, and green and low-carbon development. The construction of a beautiful Guangdong has achieved remarkable results. By 2035, a green and low-carbon production and lifestyle will be widely formed, energy utilization efficiency will reach the international advanced level, carbon emissions will stabilize and decrease after reaching the peak, the ecological environment will fundamentally improve, the protection and governance pattern from the mountaintop to the ocean will be basically constructed, the ecological system will have a virtuous cycle, the modern environmental intelligent governance system will be basically completed, and the cultural characteristics of Lingnan mountains, southern Guangdong water network, beautiful bays and other mountains and waters will be fully demonstrated. A beautiful Guangdong where humans and nature coexist harmoniously will be basically built. Looking ahead to the middle of this century, a highly developed ecological civilization, a comprehensive green development and lifestyle, a healthy and beautiful ecological environment, and a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature will be fully established in the beautiful Guangdong province.
