Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Gaza ceasefire agreement marks the beginning of restarting the Palestinian political process

On January 17th, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement stating that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is the beginning of restarting the Palestinian political process. The statement emphasized the importance of immediately implementing the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and exchanging detained personnel, and stressed that all parties to the agreement must comply with the provisions of the agreement and strive to complete all stages of the agreement within the designated date. The statement calls on the international community to support humanitarian aid operations in the Gaza Strip and prepare for the reconstruction of Gaza. Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed announced on the evening of the 15th in Doha, the capital of Qatar, that Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire agreement is divided into three stages. The first phase will be implemented starting from January 19th.
