US police: 14 confirmed deaths due to wildfires, with 16 missing

On January 13th, the Los Angeles County Sheriff announced at a press conference on January 12th that 105000 people in Los Angeles are still under evacuation orders. The current confirmed death toll by the police is 14, including 11 deaths from the Eaton fire and 3 deaths from the Palisade fire. The Los Angeles County Sheriff stated that there are currently 16 people missing due to the California wildfires, and this number is likely to rise.
