US media: Danish government expresses willingness to discuss US demands in Greenland with Trump team

On January 11th, the US news website Aksios reported that the Danish government has conveyed a message to the team of US President elect Trump through private channels, expressing willingness to discuss issues such as strengthening security in Greenland or increasing the US military presence on the island, but refusing to sell Greenland to the US. The report quoted anonymous sources as saying that the Danish government hopes to avoid a public conflict with the soon to be inaugurated Trump administration and requests the Trump team to clarify the accurate meaning of Trump’s recent remarks related to Greenland. The Danish government is ready to discuss with the Trump team all other demands of the United States in Greenland, except for the sale of Greenland.
