Former US President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral ceremony was held at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C

On January 10th, the state funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter was held at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. on the 9th local time. US President Biden, as well as four former presidents Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama, and Trump, attended the mourning ceremony. Hundreds of people, including Carter’s family, friends, and several American officials, attended the ceremony. After the ceremony, Carter’s body was sent back to his hometown of Plains, Georgia for burial. Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981, during which diplomatic relations between China and the United States were officially established. During his tenure, he also facilitated the signing of the Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel, which was of significant importance in the Middle East peace process. After Carter stepped down as the President of the United States, he devoted himself to public welfare for many years. On December 29, 2024 local time, Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100.
