On January 7th, the Lebanese army issued a statement on the 6th local time, stating that the Lebanese troops have been stationed around the town of Naqurah in southern Lebanon and have begun coordinating deployment with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Lebanon). The statement stated that the five member committee responsible for monitoring the ceasefire agreement (mechanism) held a meeting in Naqoura on the same day, and US Presidential Envoy Amos Hawkstein attended the meeting. At the same time, Israel withdrew from the town. Hoxtan stated that the Israeli army will fully withdraw from Lebanon and abide by the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. Hoxtan said that implementing a ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon is not easy, but he will support the Lebanese army.
