On January 4th, local time, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement stating that they have completed military operations in an area in northern Gaza that has been used as a hiding place and activity center by senior commanders of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). The statement stated that the area is called the ‘Officers’ Neighborhood’, with buildings overlooking Israeli territory and serving as a hub for Hamas militants’ activities. It contains anti tank positions, traps, tunnels, and firing devices aimed at Israel. According to the military, the entire building complex and the infrastructure of the Hamas armed group inside have been destroyed. Hamas has not yet responded to this.
