On the evening of January 2nd local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated in an interview with local media that Ukraine supports France’s initiative to deploy European troops in Ukraine, but France alone is not enough. Ukraine does not want this initiative to be implemented by only one or two countries. At the same time, Ukraine believes that this initiative must be a step towards NATO, and the deployment of European forces cannot mean that Ukraine cannot join NATO in the future. When answering whether he would continue to run for re-election, Zerenski said that he did not know how the Russia-Ukraine conflict would end. If he could do more than he does now, perhaps he would view this decision more positively. But now running for president is not his goal.
