Zakharova: NATO denies involvement in Ukraine conflict, unable to withstand scrutiny

On December 26th, regarding the establishment of a new NATO support coordination agency for Ukraine at a US military base in Wiesbaden, western Germany, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova stated at a regular press conference on December 25th that this agency is responsible for coordinating Western military aid to Ukraine, including providing weapons and training Ukrainian armed forces personnel. NATO recently announced that the command center is fully operational, but continues to deny its involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, claiming that it operates on the territory of NATO countries, which means from a legal perspective, NATO is only helping to maintain Ukraine’s sovereignty. Zakharova believes that this explanation cannot withstand any scrutiny. In fact, NATO is becoming increasingly close and deeply involved in the conflict in Ukraine. Establishing a specialized agency responsible for providing military assistance to Ukraine means directly participating in supplying and supporting the Ukrainian armed forces in the conflict.
