On December 24th, the first train of the Padma Bridge railway connection line arrived in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, after its full opening.
The Padma Bridge railway connection line, the largest railway project in Bangladesh constructed by a Chinese enterprise, was fully opened and officially put into operation on the 24th. As the landmark “the Belt and Road” co construction project, this railway, known locally as the “Dream Road”, is about 170 kilometers long. After opening, the travel time from the capital Dhaka to the southwestern city of Jessore will be reduced from the original 10 hours to 3 hours. At the same time, the railway will effectively promote the economic development of the areas along the line.
