China and Cambodia sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of copyright and related rights

Beijing, September 12 (Xinhua) — The National Copyright Administration of China and the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Cambodia recently signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of copyright and related rights in Beijing. As one of the outcomes of the third “the Belt and Road” High level Conference on Intellectual Property Rights, the Memorandum marks the further deepening and expansion of China Cambodia cooperation in copyright and related rights. It is an important achievement of actively responding to the “the Belt and Road” initiative and strengthening bilateral copyright exchanges and cooperation. It plays an important demonstration and promotion role in expanding China’s international influence on copyright, especially in strengthening copyright cooperation with Southeast Asian countries.

According to the memorandum, the National Copyright Administration of China and the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Cambodia will strengthen cooperation, regularly exchange legal and technical information in the field of copyright and related rights, encourage public officials and professional practitioners in copyright management between the two countries to exchange ideas through mutual visits and training, and promote cooperation between copyright collective management organizations. Both parties can jointly develop and implement an annual work plan based on the memorandum, carry out specific activities, and fully leverage the role of the memorandum.
