Japan’s’ rice shortage ‘continues in many areas, Osaka Prefecture once again calls for the release of reserve rice but is rejected

Recently, the “rice shortage” in the capital region of Japan and Osaka Prefecture has continued, with many supermarkets experiencing out of stock or purchase restrictions on rice. On September 2nd local time, officials from Osaka Prefecture once again called on the Japanese central government to release reserve rice as soon as possible to alleviate supply shortages, but were refused by central government officials.
