Dar es Salaam, August 9th (Xinhua) – President of Zanzibar, Tanzania, Hussein Ali Mwinyi, recently stated that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tanzania and China. Over the past 60 years, the Chinese government and people have made tremendous contributions to the development of Tanzania and even the entire African region, and Africa China cooperation will achieve greater success in the future.
On the 7th, Mwini attended the signing ceremony of innovative pharmaceuticals, biological vaccine research and development, and photovoltaic power generation projects funded by Chinese enterprises in Zanzibar, Tanzania, and made the above statement.
In his speech, Mwini highly praised the development achievements of Chinese path to modernization, and said that he looked forward to the upcoming 2024 FOCAC Summit in Beijing, hoping that Tanzania could attract more investment from China.
It is reported that the Chinese companies signed this time are African Biochemical Company and ABC Power Technology Company. The project invested by Chinese enterprises will focus on the research and development and production of innovative drugs and vaccines for common and new infectious diseases in Africa, as well as providing photovoltaic technology and equipment to Zanzibar.
