How will Shanghai support young talents in innovation and entrepreneurship?
At the 5th Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Youth 50 Forum briefing held on the afternoon of the 10th, the Chairman of the Shanghai Youth 50 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Institute and the Chairman of Oriental Wealth Information Co., Ltd. actually introduced the characteristics of the forum, stating that the 5th Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Youth 50 Forum with the theme of “Striving for the Peak in Shanghai – Youth and Urban Growth Together” will be held on the 18th, and the “Shanghai Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base” will be released. Considering and recommending from various aspects such as industrial priorities and youth friendly policies throughout the city, combined with regional development priorities and the foundation of youth innovation and entrepreneurship work in each district, and taking into account multiple opinions, relevant parks have been selected to carry out independent research and development, transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, enterprise incubation, scientific and technological services, talent cultivation, and other work for young people with aspirations. They will play a social leading role in industrial priorities, support policies, and supporting services.
Meanwhile, this year’s forum will release the “Shanghai Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Plan”. From multiple sectors such as “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Enterprise Support Policy”, “Youth Support Policy”, “Project Special Reward Policy”, “Supporting Service Policy”, and “Other Specific Functional Policies”, we comprehensively sort out and integrate support policies for various districts and parks, providing guidance and guidance for global youth to come to Shanghai for innovation and entrepreneurship.
In addition, one of the highlights of this year’s forum is the release of the Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecological Research Report. Chen Kai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Oriental Wealth Information Co., Ltd., introduced that on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the forum, the Shanghai Youth 50 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Institute, in conjunction with the First Financial New First tier City Research Institute, will launch the “Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecological Research Report”, focusing on multiple dimensions such as Shanghai’s industrial cluster, talent gathering, policy services and support system, comprehensively and comprehensively showcasing the thriving ecology of Shanghai’s innovation and entrepreneurship.
He said that the report will revolve around three main themes: building platforms, gathering talents, and creating the future. By showcasing a large number of achievements and rich data charts, this article showcases the cluster development advantages of Shanghai in leading and key advantageous industries, as well as the construction achievements of innovation and entrepreneurship elements such as universities, national laboratories, and industrial incubators.
Chen Kai introduced that as of 2023, there were 242700 graduate students from universities in Shanghai, and more than 1500 scholars were selected for youth science and technology innovation talent training programs or incentive plans such as the “Oriental Talents” and “Qixing Project” throughout the year. The related projects have trained nearly 10000 young innovative scholars.
On the basis of showcasing achievements and data support, the report also invited young leaders who have made significant achievements in popular fields such as new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, biology, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, and digital creativity to share their insights, confusions, thoughts, and experiences on the path of entrepreneurship, and jointly explore the future development trends of innovation and entrepreneurship in Shanghai.
