Dar es Salaam, April 7th (Xinhua) – The groundbreaking ceremony for the Arusha Comprehensive Sports Stadium project, constructed by China Railway Construction Group Co., Ltd., was held on the 6th in the northern city of Arusha, Tanzania.
Tanzanian Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports, Damas Daniel Ndimbaro, delivered a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, stating that the stadium is an important infrastructure for the country’s first hosting of the African Cup and will become another landmark in the area.
According to Gao Hongchun, the project manager of China Railway Construction Engineering Stadium, the stadium will provide employment opportunities for the local area, promote urban construction, and drive regional economic development.
The project is located in the tourist city of Arusha in northern Tanzania, with a total planned land area of 14.57 hectares. After completion, it can accommodate 30000 people and will host large-scale events, including the 2027 African Cup of Nations football tournament, here in the future.
