The 2024 Annual Report on Asian Economic Prospects and Integration Process released by the Boao Forum for Asia on the 26th pointed out that, as an important platform for global development governance, the joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” has always adhered to the development orientation, achieved fruitful development results, and played an important role in promoting the joint development of countries.
Taking advantage of the high-quality construction of the “the Belt and Road” initiative, Chinese enterprises are taking a more solid step of “going global”.
“We have always focused on the development needs of the ‘the Belt and Road’ co construction country, provided green and low-carbon transformation plans, and constantly polished the green background of high-quality co construction of the ‘the Belt and Road’,” said Zhou Xiaoneng, chief economist of China Energy Construction Corporation.
China has actively promoted the establishment of the “the Belt and Road” green and low-carbon development cooperation mechanism, jointly launched the “the Belt and Road” green development partnership initiative with 31 co construction countries, actively helped the co construction countries to strengthen green talent training, and implemented the “Green Silk Road Messenger Plan”, which has trained more than 3000 people for more than 120 co construction countries.
Zeng Congqin, director of the Boao Forum for Asia and chairman of Wuliangye Group (Holdings), said that as a typical representative of Chinese Baijiu, Wuliangye made full use of the valuable opportunities of the “the Belt and Road”, constantly accelerated the pace of “going out”, and gathered consensus and joint forces for high-quality joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” through trade, culture and other communication activities. Cheng Gang, chairman of Beijing Kanglisheng Pharmaceutical Technology Development Co., Ltd., said that the world is a global village, and the joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” provides a platform for enterprises to communicate with the world and show themselves. With such a platform, enterprises are more likely to “go global”.
According to the data of the Ministry of Commerce of China, in 2023, Chinese enterprises will invest 224.09 billion yuan in non-financial direct investment in the “the Belt and Road” countries, an increase of 28.4% over the previous year. In terms of foreign contracting projects, the newly signed contract value of Chinese enterprises in the “the Belt and Road” countries was 160073 billion yuan, up 10.7%; Completed a turnover of RMB 93.052 billion, an increase of 9.8%.
In the view of Kiril Babayev, director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the success of high-quality joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” lies in the possibility of exploring cooperation in various fields. In the future, Babayev hopes to contribute to actively promoting the joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” initiative and the docking of the Eurasian Economic Union.
